Let’s be honest: car insurance, home owner’s insurance…not really fun. Necessary and required, but seriously, who writes a blog about it? Realtors that work with insurance agents to make sure their buyers can get their home loan do! And let’s face it—we all want to be covered when that water pipe bursts (which happened to me this week…hence the late blog post).
But this story is more than just shining the light on State Farm Insurance, because just like real-estating… it’s all about the agent. Kent Cashman, who runs the State Farm office off Kimball Drive is a humble go-giver, consistently giving back to our Peninsula School District schools. He is a strong believer in our public schools and education. He has been a large supporter of Peninsula Hands on Art, which serves all 8 elementary schools with art for every student, and he came in big this week to support the Stand Up for Peninsula Schools bond campaign and today we are prepared to give more!

Along with being a generous supporter of our community, Kent Cashman is all about top notch customer service and satisfaction. Insurance is in his blood: his parents have been in the business his whole life and his office off Wollochet and Kimball Drive in Gig Harbor turns 4 this year (Happy Birthday!). I am a current client and just recently had to file my first claim…..so sad. But who did I call the minute I needed to TALK to someone? I called Kent, directly on his cell. His pro-tips when shopping for an insurance company are to consider these three elements: Claim Satisfaction, Service, and Cost. “Don’t sacrifice something that is important to you due to price.” He recommends looking for a local company who you can talk to and explain the coverages, deductibles, and the limitations that exist to see if you need additional coverage. A local agent can help you with area-specific coverage—what you need to protect yourself in your local market.
