#BizintheGig: Anthro + West Elm had a baby = The Nook

Oh my gosh, thanks for “tuning in”- I am so glad you stopped by… you HAVE to meet Linnea and Stephanie. These Gig Harbor moms are new owners of their “biz baby” The Nook, a shop full of unique finds that is JUST what Gig Harbor needed!

Y’all know I’m a lover of small businesses and small towns in Washington — especially Gig Harbor. Every Thursday I’m bringing these two loves together. Follow along as I #tourthegig, visit gorgeous, just-listed homes, and then spotlight a #bizinthegig from among our community’s many fabulous small businesses. Bonus: each Thursday when I highlight a small business, I’ll also do a giveaway for everyone who comments right here on the blog!

#BizintheGig: This week was all about finding everything I never knew I always needed. I met Linnea and Stephanie, the awesome owners of The Nook this past Monday. I left with an arm load of cute finds- they located at 3226 Harborview Dr. (next to El Publito) right here in Downtown Gig Harbor!

How did their biz baby come to be? These two super moms re-connected over coffee and decided right there to  bring their two passions together. The best part is, all of us in Gig Harbor get to benefit from this great new home decor and accessories shop. They opened June of 2017 and blended Stephanie’s love of refinished furniture with Linnea’s eye for chic apparel and home decor to create, The Nook.SOOO really @madeghshop + @urbanpatina had a baby and named it @TheNookGH.I can’t tell you how happy this store makes me-  Check out our lil video from this week’s visit to the Nook!It can be a little tricky to find, but imagine you are going to eat at El Publito…you park in their sweet parking lot, yes, there’s parking! Then walk into the indoor shopping mall and whammo, there’s The Nook, just to your left.Find these two ladies, Thurs-Sat, open 11-5, for your browsing pleasure OR hit up Stephanie and Linnea with a DM (direct message) on Instagram and set up private shopping at your convenience (um yes, I’ll bring the bubbles). The store is packed full of really great home decor pieces, jewelry, unique furniture, and great gift items. I managed to leave with a rose gold ring, adorable leather pink cross-body bag, two candles and the bath salts.

The energy that these two boss ladies bring to the shop and to Gig Harbor is infectious. It is so fun to see the passion that entrepreneurs bring to their business. Linnea is all about finding items that are fair trade, ethically sourced and that give back to others- for example, my bag that I purchased is part of a program that helps give women jobs, the bath salts are made right here in the US of A. Stephanie has a passion for the local artists here in the Gig. She’s sourcing locals to bring their items and stock them at the shop. I can’t wait to see the line up of Gig Harbor items that her artist is currently designing! We love to show our small town pride…and as a Realtor, I love give to buyers those one of a kind Gig Harbor items.

Lets show these ladies some love, find them on Instagram @TheNookGH and leave a comment on their recent post with the #bizinthegig so they know you’ve seen their video. I am giving away their “Cake & Bliss” Bath Salts to someone who comments on the blog, so let me know you are here and leave a comment below- that’s where the magic happens!

If you love a West Elm-y vibe or love Compass Rose in Tacoma….visit The Nook. Located on Harborview Drive, open Thurs-Saturday 11am-5pm or by appt! The more love they get, the more space they can expand to and also expand their hours…shop small, its always a good idea! **Pro Tip: they will be participating in Girls Night Out this year (Nov 9th), so definitely work them into the route and pick up a gift or two this holiday season from The Nook!
