#BizintheGig: Oh My GNOSH, Gig Harbor’s New Food Truck, GNOSH, is LEGIT!
I told my husband that our spotlight business here in Gig Harbor today is GNOSH food truck and he said “Gig Harbor has a food truck?” YES we do people and its delicious! Located about 10 min over the gorgeous Purdy Bridge in Key Center Stephanie Brooks is filling bellies and hearts in Gig Harbor. Meet her and her cousin Jennifer, they have hearts of gold, give back to the community and make the most delicious food you can ever imagine, even better, they are mobile so you can have them come to you!
Its no secret that I am a huge cheerleader for small businesses — especially in Gig Harbor. Every Thursday I’m bringing these two loves together, real estate and entrepreneurs. Follow along as I #tourthegig, visit gorgeous, just-listed homes, and then spotlight a #bizinthegig from among our community’s many small businesses. Bonus: each Thursday when I highlight a small business, I’ll also do a giveaway for everyone who comments right here on the blog- this week I will be giving away one of these cute coffee table books to a commenter below!
Stephanie Brooks has found her passion! Her family run food truck has captured the hearts of her home town on the Key Peninsula in Gig Harbor. They are known for savory Sammiches and Wraps along with some ahhh-mazing fries. The perfect comfort food for this chilly weather. We filmed their story (watch it below) when the sun was shining but the weather was chilly and customers flocked to snap up their favorites. A simple 6 item menu, with daily specials and FIVE different options for delectable fries…lunch never tasted so good!
Along with visiting them at their consistent spot in Key Center, you can book the truck for parties, catering and events! If you are looking for great gift ideas for the holidays, snap up a gift card and show your local support this holiday season. When we support these ladies they turn right around and share the love with families in their community.
The Key Peninsula community is one that rallies around their families in a way most cities don’t see anymore. Stephanie and Jennifer are in the thick of planning a Holiday party for the local kids in need, complete with a Santa stop and a evening they will not soon forget- this is what makes communities great. Thank you to all of the customers that have shown the love to GNOSH, Stephanie can’t express her thankfulness to the community for the support they have given her business to lift it to where it is today.
**TO WIN: Comment on the blog below and I will randomly select a winner for a $25 gift card!**
Remember to keep on supporting local, these small business owners they are who keep our small town special.
Check out the full interview here. It was freezing but these two ladies warmed my heart, nothing better than giving back to the community while doing something you love.
Its Thursday and that means typically I am touring the new listings that have hit the market in Gig Harbor, but this Thursday I am slaying for my clients from Chicago.
Next week I will be back on tour seeing all the new listings on the market, but this week I am working my butt off from a hotel room in Chicago, the hubs has some work commitments out here during the holiday season and I am stealing the opportunity to see if the food here compares to Stephanie’s amazing GNOSH food truck.
I will take a minute to talk about the schools out on the Key Peninsula that I toured this week- we actually got on the bus and toured PHS, Minter Creek Elementary and Key Peninsula Middle School.
Minter Creek– What can I say? I love this school, the administration and our 5th grade tour guides…well those kids will absolutely be future leaders! We saw their music room, which is amazing, some excited kindergartens, toured their highly-capable program and learned that they saw the highest enrollment number that they have ever seen in Kindergarten- WOW, they might benefit from another classroom. This school is all about community, a warm and friendly place to go to school- such a gift to young K-5th graders to start their learning career.
Key Peninsula Middle School– This 6-8th grade school serves most of the Key Peninsula middle schoolers. Another tight community that has a focus on kindness, lead by the Principal and Vice Principal who adore the work they are doing. We visited their robotics program, learned about the language arts program and were able to see the work they are able to do in smaller groups for more individualized learning. KPMS also saw huge growth of 100 students from last year to this year, showing that this area of Gig Harbor is the next big thing!
Peninsula High School- The Key Peninsula feeds into PHS. We went back to high school and toured the campus. It has some areas that need attention but the school board is working on the facilities plan as we speak! The teachers tho, OMG they are dedicated and offering some tremendous opportunities in STEM, trade and education fields! My favorite observation is the work they are doing within the school to build community and make every student feel valued and that they are bringing something important to the table. This is how home town love grows.
Hats off to all the administrators and teachers that are shaping the future of our community.
