Erik Owen has called Gig Harbor home for more than 40 years. He earned his master’s degree in English and spent 15 years as an international consultant for humanitarian aid and development organizations. But what has been a lifelong driving passion of his is a love of music and the pursuit of the perfect sound. In 2012 Owen opened Gig Harbor Audio with the belief that there is nothing more fascinating, healing, and soul-reviving than listening to a well-recorded album on a beautiful system. His mission was to set up one quintessential audio system, and it continued to evolve as year after year his business expanded into an eclectic and extraordinary shop.

You are welcome to come into Gig Harbor Audio and unwind on a comfortable couch, listen to great music on a quality sound system, read a book, and even enjoy a cup of tea or a pint of local beer. The store supplies new and vintage analog and digital audio equipment, high-end tube and solid-state amplifiers, turntables, reel-to-reels, speakers, and streamers. They also perform repairs and provide audio and video installation that includes whole home automation—shading, lighting, climate control, audio, and video. Owen and his team have built a solid reputation of being knowledgeable, honest, and dedicated to building the system that meets your individual needs, catering not only to the audiophile but also to beginners in the field.

Gig Harbor Audio hosts events, wine tastings, and clinics on equipment for those seeking to learn more about their trade. They work with several Puget Sound businesses including Shiloh Threads, 7 Seas Brewing, Wet Coast Brewing, E9 Brewing Co., and Microlynx LLC. Each month Owen and his team volunteer their time for community projects in Gig Harbor. They also enjoy hosting free concerts, with all donations going to cancer research.
