They say Memorial Day is the unofficial kickoff to summer, and with Memorial Day weekend just over a week away, that means summer is almost here! There’s a great lineup this year with events and activities all around Gig Harbor, and with the broad range of happenings taking place you’re sure to find something that everyone in the family will enjoy. So check out the list, put some fun stuff on the calendar, and make it a great summer!

High Tide Hoedown

Friday, May 30, 2025 | 5:30 – 9pm

Throw on your favorite PNW Western attire and kick off the last weekend of May at the Gig Harbor Marina & Boatyard. It wouldn’t be a proper hoedown without a night of live music by our own- Nick Cain, a delicious barbeque, line dancing (lessons included), raffles, contests and fun surprises—all in support of the Gig Harbor Waterfront District.

June Events

Maritime Gig Festival 

Saturday, June 7 & Sunday, June 8, 2025 | Various Times

This highly anticipated annual event is coming up! Saturday will feature the Maritime Gig Grande Parade (10am), a variety of live music, and vendor booths for businesses, crafts, food, and a children’s fair. Events on Sunday include the Wheels on the Water Car Show, more live music, and the Blessing of the Fleet. Check out the Gig Harbor Chamber of Commerce website for all the information you’ll need, including the lineup of events, parade route and street closures, and registration.

Gig Harbor Yacht Club Membership Drive and Summer Kick-off Barbeque

Saturday, June 7, 2025 | 12pm – 3pm

This barbeque follows the Gigfest Parade for a full day of fun. Register for the yacht club barbeque, mingle with fellow enthusiast, check out their club rental showcase and enjoy a reduced rate for new members! 

Family Boat Building

Saturday, June 7 & Sunday, June 8, 2025 | 9am – 5pm

What a skill and experience to have in a place surrounded by beautiful bodies of water! In just one weekend at The Gig Harbor Boatshop, you can build a fully functioning 12 feet, 90-pound salt bay skiff! You and your team of 2-5 (ages 12+) will get your own guide to walk you through the step-by-step procedures, with no skills necessary. On Sunday there will be a ceremonial launch where you can row your boat in Gig Harbor Bay, and then it’s yours to keep forever! Book this experience today!

Artvana Paint & Sip @ Locust Cider

Locust Cider is the perfect place to join Artvana for a night of creativity and fun. Enjoy your stress-free step by step guidance as you paint your version of ‘The Deep’.

Gig Harbor Plant Swap

Gardeners of all skill levels are welcome to share their plants, seed cuttings, tools and all gardening related materials with one another.  This free event is a great way for gardeners to connect and share their enthusiasm and wealth of healthy knowledge!

Gig Harbor Garden Tour 

Saturday, June 28 | 10am – 5pm  &  Sunday, June 29, 2025 |11am – 3pm

Enjoy the beauty of various gardens throughout the greater Gig Harbor area. Tickets for this self-guided tour can be purchased online or will be available at several stores around town starting Memorial Day weekend. With your ticket you will be given a booklet with directions to and descriptions of each garden.

3rd Annual Golf Tournament Fundraiser at Eagles Pride Golf Course - DuPont, WA.

Communities in Schools is excited to participate in this fun, charitable event! Enjoy this tournament with a cart, boxed lunch, silent auction, swag bag, banquet dinner, hosted drinks (beer and wine), prizes and more – all FORE a great cause. Family Fun Fest and Maker's Market

Saturday, July 12, 2025| 3pm - 7pm

Celebrate a summer of fun with the whole family. Besides the Maker’s Market there will also be food trucks, tropical themed music, inflatables, a treasure hunt, a splash pad and more! Additional information will be put on the Key Pen Parks website, so be sure to check back later.

Summer Sips at Uptown (21+ event) 

Saturday, July 12, 2025| 12pm - 6pm

Taste a variety of local libations, from wine and beer to cider, kombucha, and more! There will be live music, food options from Uptown eateries, and even a Pop-Up Bottle Shop where you can purchase some of your new favorite finds. Get your tickets here!

Olalla Lavender Festival

Peninsula Art League Summer Art Festival

This year will be the Peninsula Art League’s 39th annual festival! Enjoy the nature at Sehmel Homestead Park and visit the more than 150 booths featuring artisans from the Pacific Northwest as well as around the country. Besides art there will be food, music, a kid’s corner, local art show, and an area for authors and illustrators.

Waterfront Farmers Market

Nothing says “summer” like a farmers market, and opening day for the Waterfront Farmers Market is coming up on Thursday, May 22nd! Happening every Thursday through late August, come by boat or foot and see all there is to choose from—food, flowers, artisan specialties, crafts, musical entertainment, and more!

Uptown Summer Concert Series

It’s the annual series of free summer concerts at Uptown Gig Harbor, and it’s another great line-up:

Waterfront Walking Tours

Join the tour on Saturday mornings to learn about the natural history at the waterfront. The first tour is on Saturday, June 17th, and the season will wrap up on Saturday, August 30th. 

Every 2nd Thursday of the month- Pints, Myths & Maritime Spirits ’tickets required

Pints, Myths & Maritime Spirits is an interactive and engaging tour that takes attendees on a journey through Gig Harbor's maritime history and lore, starting and ending with local craft beverages (included with walking tour ticket). Fit for all ages.

Live at Olalla Vineyard & Winery

Community Boat Restoration Program

Gig Harbor Demonstration Garden

Get in the mood for summer and hone your green thumb at these free community garden events. Garden talks are offered one Saturday a month, container planting classes are available multiple dates through September, master gardener clinics are held every Saturday in the spring and summer, and several youth workshops will be happening as well.
