End of Summer & Early Fall 2025 Events in Gig Harbor

Even though summer is on its way out and school’s about to begin again, there are still plenty of events happening in and around Gig Harbor. Make the most of what’s still left of the warm weather with blackberry and film festivals before welcoming fall with cider swigs and harvest-time fun! 

The Waterfront Farmers Market

Thursdays, through August 28, 2025 | 1pm - 6pm 

Head to Skansie Brothers Park to catch the last few weeks of this summer’s Waterfront Farmers Market. Come by boat or foot and see all there is to choose from – food, flowers, artisan specialties, crafts, and more.

Gig Harbor Demonstration Garden Events

Wednesdays, 9:30am to 12pm | year-round 

Saturdays, 10am to 2pm | mid-April to mid-October 

Come join the WSU Pierce County Extension Master Gardener Program  at Sehmel Homestead Park for their final events of the summer!

Children’s Workshops

On Saturday, August 16, kids can learn about The Wacky World of Weird Plants in the garden, or make scarecrows and help harvest fall vegetables on Saturday, September 20. These activities are geared towards kids aged 3-11 and will take place at 10:30am. Register here!

Harbor Hounds

Saturday, September 6, 2025 | 10am - 3pm

Bring the whole family (including the humans!) to Skansie Brothers Park 

for a day of food, fun, music, activities and entertainment! There will be a community dog walk, agility course, and even a chance for Fido to show off his special talents. Sponsored by the Rotary Club of Gig Harbor Midday, this event offers various ways to support the community and local charities. Race for a Soldier

Sunday, September 7, 2025 

Lace up your running shoes for a good cause! The Permission to Start Dreaming Foundation will be hosting their 15th annual half-marathon 12k and 5K. Visit their website for more information on race registration and sponsorship opportunities.

Autumn Sip and Stroll

Saturday, September 13, 2025 | 2pm - 6pm

Enjoy yourself for an afternoon sampling food, wine, brews, and more from over 25 local businesses at the Gig Harbor Waterfront Alliance's annual Sip & Stroll!  Shuttle buses and water taxis will provide complimentary transportation so you can be sure to make it to all of the stops. Gig Harbor Film Festival

Thursday, September 25 - Sunday, September 27, 2025

During the festival at Galaxy Theatres, films from more than 100 international filmmakers will be featured. The program will include film showings, question-and-answer sessions with the filmmakers, parties, and more. 

Pull For a Soldier

Hands Of Hope Dinner and Gala

Friday, October 10, 2026 | 5pm – 9pm

Dress in your semi-formal best and head to Ocean5 for the Hands Of Hope Dinner and Gala. Purchase tickets for the Gala to show your support for Harbor Hope Center of Washington, a wonderful organization that works to break the cycle of homelessness among Washington’s youth.

Schilter Family Farm Sunflower Experience- Olympia

August 16th - 31st, 2025 | Thursdays - Sundays

Schilter Famy Farm is truly an experience. Aside from 5 acres of beautiful sunflowers you can also enjoy a wagon ride to the fields, a busy bee playground, zip swings, a bounce pillow, trike track, a low ropes course and more! You can also indulge in delicious treat, homemade fare. Beer, wine and strawberry lemonade!

Sunflower Festival at Rutledge Family Farm - Olympia

August 16th – September 1, 2025

There are over 3 acres of to feast your eyes and camera on! Each festival ticket includes one sunflower bloom and a wagon ride to and from the sunflower fields. You may may spend as much time as you wish exploring the sunflowers fields, taking pictures, reading the informational signs, and choosing the best sunflower blooms* to take home. You can also participate in many fun games and activities in the courtyard!

The Washington State International Kite Festival - Long Beach

August 18th -24th, 2025 

If you’re looking for a good reason to head to the beach, this festival is a beautiful one! Kite enthusiasts and world renown kite fliers come from all over the country to Long Beach for a week of dazzling displays, graceful choreography, and high-flying excitement. 

Kitsap Fair and Stampede - Bremerton

Wednesday, August 20th – Sunday, August 24th 

You don’t have to travel far for this stampede of fun! Bring your whole family to the Kitsap County Fairgrounds in Bremerton for rodeos, a demolition derby, barnyard animals, a carnival, a free concert series, and of course, all the delicious fair food you could ask for!

Kitsap Blues Music Festival - Bremerton

Blackberry Festival  - Bremerton

Bring the family and spend Labor Day weekend celebrating everything blackberry! Sponsored by the Bremerton Rotary Foundation, proceeds benefit the community’s non-profit services, scholarships, parks, and more. Wooden Boat Festival - Port Townsend

September 5-7, 2025 

Visit Port Townsend for North America's largest wooden boat festival!  You can learn from experts and enjoy live music, hands-on activities, and there’s plenty of fun for kids! It is free for every child aged 12 and under! 

Harvest Home Festival - Tacoma

Saturday, September 6, 2025 | 11am - 5pm

Give summer a proper send-off at Fort Nisqually for their Harvest Home Festival. The whole family will have fun learning old-fashioned games, enjoying performances of traditional music and dance, pressing cider, and more. Purchase tickets here so you don’t miss out on the fun! 

Manette Fest - Bremerton

Come to this quirky and fun annual festival to experience the world’s tiniest parade, live music, many vendors and delicious food.  Check back in closer to the date for a lineup of events! 

Sunflower Days at Maris Farms –  Buckley

September 6-21, 2025 

Enjoy your day or evening in 5 acres of brilliantly colored flowers, perfect for plenty of photo ops! Each Farm Fun (daytime) Admission includes one bloom, a wagon ride, MEGA SLIDE, ziplines, jump pillow, ropes course, corn maze and more than a dozen other activities for all ages. Cider Swig Festival - Tacoma

The Greater Peninsula Cider Festival is back at LeMay - America’s Car Museum.  Enjoy a day with food, live music, a family friendly kid’s market, and games as you experience the Pacific Northwest’s agricultural heritage and support local businesses. There will be over 130 regional ciders and other drinks available for sampling, and a Bottle Shop where you can purchase your favorite finds.
